The Federal Highway Administration’s Office of Freight Management and Operations announces a new Freight Mobility Trends Analysis Tool. This tool uses the National Performance Management Research Data Set (NPMRDS) truck probe data, as well as the Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) to visualize freight highway performance at the national level.  The tool features an interactive dashboard that users can query for:

  • Measures of freight mobility at the National, State, regional, or corridor level;
  • Freight mobility around major ports, intermodal facilities, and border crossings; and,
  • Identification of major freight highway bottlenecks.

The Freight Mobility Trends Analysis Tool was used to develop a national list of 100 major freight highway bottlenecks, which is also available on the website.
